Carine – Golf Club Dining in Dubai

Carine restaurant at Emirates Golf Club, Dubai

Courtney from A to Za’atar was invited to come by Carine at Emirates Golf Club and check out their new lunch menu, and she asked me, if I wanted to come along? Of course I would, because 1: Courtney has been on my Bloggers I Would Like To Meet IRL list for a very long time and 2: I’ve finally decided to sign up for golf lessons (yes! More on that in another post). And let’s not forget 3: My previous experiences with golf club dining have been nice but also very predictable, so I was curious to see how Carine had decided to do things.

We had 3 different starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts which is A LOT of food. Everything was tasty, but since I don’t want to keep you, nor myself, up all night, I’ll not be going over everything we had. Here are some of the highlights:

The tuna carpaccio was pretty as a picture, and I liked the pomegranate/pomelo garnish which added a nice, fruity sting that made the dish stand out.

The roasted seabass was served in a frying pan and completely stole the show, because, look at that presentation! I was so dazzled, I forgot about the sumac rice that came on the side. When I finally remembered, I was almost full (saving space for dessert) and only managed to scoop up a few mouthfuls of the delicious, fragrant rice.

The veal didn’t have the same level of photo-appeal as the other dishes, but flavor-wise, it was a win. Perfectly cooked (more rare than medium) and with a delicious chimichurri-ish sauce on the side.

The desserts were all delicious, but if you only order one dessert (which I guess most of you do) let it be the chocolate one with the ice cream on top and something unidentified, but nice and crispy inside. I don’t know the name of it and I couldn’t find the menu online, but it was soooo good.
