DEK on 8 is a nice rooftop bar in Media One Hotel. It’s fully open air and there’s also a pool if you feel like taking a plunge. On Wednesdays, DEK on 8 is hosting one of the best Ladies Nights in town. Ladies get 2 free drinks between 21:00-24:00, and there are always a lot of girly things going on such as free manicures, hairdos and prizes up for grabs.
If you’ve read the door policy posted on the DEK on 8 website, you’ll probably ask yourself whether it’s even worth giving DEK on 8 a shot, but don’t worry. In reality, the doors at DEK on 8 are among the friendliest in town, and the crowd is an amiable mix of young professionals and a few tourists.
There’s no cover charge at DEK on 8, but drinks are rather pricey, so go between 19:00-21:00, when there are happy hour prices in the bar. After DEK on 8, people usually head further upstairs to the nightclub Level 41, which is located on the 41st floor in Media One (you have to take another elevator in the lobby). I’ve only been at Level 41 once, and I didn’t like it very much, but it’s maybe just because I’m grumpy and old. If you’re in your 20s, you’ll probably love it.
