One of my favorite beaches in Dubai is Sunset Beach or Public Beach or Umm Suqeim Beach, which it is also called. The beach I’m talking about is the one in Umm Suqeim right after Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
Compared to other public beaches in Dubai, it doesn’t have a lot of facilities, but recently, restrooms/changing rooms have been installed on the beach, so now it’s actually possible to spend an entire day on Sunset Beach without having to worry about next time you have to go to the bathroom.
The reason, why I like this beach so much, is first and foremost the excellent view of Burj Al Arab. 7 stars or not, this hotel is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. When the weather is too rough for a swim, the local surfers take over, and it’s fun to see how they’re struggling with the waves (though some of them are really good). There are always lots of tourists on the beach, so don’t go there if you don’t want to end up in someone’s holiday photos.
When I took my parents to the beach the other day, it was really windy, so my mom just snapped a few photos, and I snapped a few photos of my mom snapping photos, before we drove back home again.
