Wednesday, I was invited to an event at Eeten which is a new cafe in Dubai Marina Mall. At the event, we could try different dishes from the menu, so Mille (from Madmille.dk) and I shared a starter of avocado hummus, and then Mille had the shrimp and avo salad, and I had the Mr Benedict, which is the Eeten version of Eggs Benedict with salmon.
The sweet lady who took care of our table, also convinced us to try the Asian salad. I am not really sure, what made the salad Asian, but maybe it was the tangy dressing that was slightly similar to the fish sauce/lime/chili/garlic dressing you get with some Thai salads.
The food at Eeten is good solid Dubai-style café food without any surprises (neither positive nor negative), but at prices lower than most other cafes in Marina Mall. All the breakfast dishes are less than 50AED, and you can get a soft serve cone for 14AED which is cheap for Dubai Marina. In fact, I think you’ll only find cheaper soft serve at McDonald’s and IKEA. Another thing I like about Eeten is that it is a homegrown café and not a franchise of a big international chain.
Eeten opened in December 2019, so I had been there with Poul on another occasion before the event. Back then, Poul wasn’t very happy with the Americano, which he said was watery and tasted like drip coffee. At the event, I therefore thought I would try one of the coffees to see how it was, so I had a cappuccino, and it was nice.
