Dubai Marina: Breakfast at Fümé in Pier 7

Hanna and I were invited to come by Fümé in Pier 7 last Friday and try their new breakfast menu. Fümé is one of my oldest Dubai Marina darlings, and when Poul and I were living in Al Majara (building close to Pier 7), we used to come there several times a month.

I’ve also had breakfast at Fümé at a number of times before, so I couldn’t help noticing that the menu didn’t look much different from the last time I was there. The staff explained to us that while the dishes have the same names in the menu, many of them have undergone adjustments. Furthermore, Fümé has also joined the club of restaurants serving Smashed Avo, which nowadays seems to be a mandatory menu item at all breakfast spots in Dubai.

I had the Lotus Pancakes, which I’ve had before, so I knew what to expect (they’re delicious!), but I had forgotten how big the portion was. I could have done with half of it.

Hanna had Organic Cheddar Eggs, which looked tasty, and K., Hanna’s husband decided to give the Smashed Avo a try.

Hanna also brought her kids two kids along. I think I’ve mentioned earlier that they can be quite a handful, but luckily the big play area worked out fine as a kids’ parking, so mom, dad and Mitzie Mee could have a fairly undisturbed breakfast.

As for the rest of the weekend, I spent most of it indoors in voluntary solitary confinement. I’m so painfully behind with the blogging, it’s crazy! I still have posts from the USA trip last year, which I haven’t uploaded, not to mention all the posts from my old blog, which are yet to be transferred to my new site. We’re talking hundreds of posts here! I’ve also rediscovered YouTube, and I’m having a lot of fun (and spending a lot of time) making videos.
