This morning, I went on a short promenade down to Meydan Beach Club at JBR. H&M Home has just been launched in Dubai, and I was invited to come and see the spring collection.
I used to live in Sweden for 5 years, so H&M has always had a special place in my heart. Even though I don’t usually attend this kind of events, I was more than ready to make an exception for my Swedish darling. H&M’s home wear and home accessories line has been available in Sweden since 2009, but it hasn’t been available in Dubai until now. That’s really great news for those of us, who have been on the lookout for trendy, but affordable home accessories down here.
The Spring Collection was very…pastel. And that’s not a bad thing, if you ask me. However, I’m quite sure Poul wouldn’t be too happy about the prospect of turning our apartment into what could have been Barbie’s house.
It wasn’t all pink though, and another dominant trend in the Spring Collection was, what I would describe as French country style mixed with New England/coastal chic (though I’m quite sure that H&M calls it something else). Beautiful, rustic bottles and jars, and printed pillows in maritime colors. Simple, robust and a lot more likely to happen in our apartment.
