Las Vegas: My wedding at A Little White Wedding Chapel

We had a really nice wedding ceremony at the Little White Wedding Chapel. Elvis was a little late and I had to pay $75 to rent a veil for 30 minutes, but it was only minor flaws on an overall perfect day.

We did not get a chance to coordinate with Elvis, which songs he was going to sing, so it was a pleasant surprise to hear the sound of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” as I started walking down the aisle with Rikke.

The ceremony itself only took around 10 minutes, and the minister said a lot of things I don’t remember. We repeated some phrases, and we promised to love each other through good times and bad times. During and after the ceremony, a photographer took some pictures, which we later received on a CD.

If you are planning a wedding at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas be prepared to add around $150-$200 extra on top of the price stated on the website. This is to cover the tips expected by the minister, the photographer, the limo-driver and Elvis, so bring the amount in cash. Before the ceremony, you are presented with a paper, where you can choose to give $40, $60 or $100 to the minister and $30, $40 or $60 to the photographer.

You are not allowed to take pictures inside the chapel, but outside you are free to do so. Picture packages are really expensive, so I can recommend to choose one of the smaller packages to get some pictures from the ceremony, and then take the pictures outside yourself.
