Gray linen tea towel with white hand block print. The tea towels are handmade from upcycled fabric, so each towel is unique, and minor variations in fabric, size and color may occur. Dye outside of the pattern and small irregularities in the print are also expected, and hard to avoid when printing by hand, but this only adds to the handmade feel, and makes the tea towels stand out from factory made towels.
Color: Gray with a touch of olive green. White block print
Material: 100% upcycled linen.
20″ x 26″ (minor variations in size may occur)
Made in Cambodia
Domlei is a Phnom Penh based ethical kids clothing and accessories brand, founded by Cambodia national, designer and photographer, Saron. Originally from a small village, Saron now lives in the capital, from where she runs Domlei. All handwoven fabric at Domlei is designed and woven in Cambodia in close collaboration with local artisans in rural parts of the country. Domlei also uses high quality dead stock, which is leftover fabric sourced from the garment factories in Cambodia. Domlei is particularly known for good design and high-quality textiles. Domlei is also one of the only brands in Phnom Penh that does modern hand block print.
Sometimes the garment factories order too much fabric, or a design gets cancelled resulting in piles of leftover fabric. Traditionally, this leftover fabric ended up in landfills, but nowadays, you can find it at the local markets around Phnom Penh. By using this material to make new items such as the hair bows, we prevent beautiful material from going to waste while at the same time contributing to a more sustainable garment production.
