The Garlic Black Pepper Saucy Noodles is a Vietnamese-American invention, inspired by the Vietnamese-American garlic butter noodles originally created at Thanh Long restaurant in San Francisco . The Omsom Garlic Black Pepper Saucy Noodles were developed in collaboration with Chef Helen Nguyen of NYC’s Saigon Social, and the savory noodles have a touch of fish sauce, providing a delicious boost of umami.  The The Garlic Black Pepper Saucy Noodles only have a tiny bit of spiciness from the black pepper.

The noodles are air-dried, and will be ready in 4 minutes. Mix with the sauce, add two tablespoons of hot water and garnish with  sprinkle with fresh lime juice and cilantro if available, and you have a delicious, satisfying meal ready in no time.

I love how perfectly bouncy the noodles are. They don’t taste like any other instant noodles out there. The sauce is also delicious and has a lot of garlicky goodness. The noodles are good on their own, just with the sauce, but you can add pork or tofu for a more filling dish. I recommend sprinkling with Bungkus Bagus Sambal Goreng Spicy Fried Shallots, Garlic & Chilies to turn up the heat a bit.

About Omsom

Omsom was founded by the two sisters  Vanessa and Kim Pham. They are daughters of Vietnamese refugees and grew up watching their mom cook dinners from scratch. After a stint into consulting and startups, the sisters returned to their roots and build a company focused on celebrating the diversity found in Asian flavors.

Sauce: Tamari (water, soybeans, salt, sugar, alcohol, vinegar, lactic acid), butter powder (butter [cream, salt], buttermilk powder), safflower oil, fish sauce (anchovy, sea salt), garlic, cane sugar, black pepper.
