Cardamom + Cinnamon Nut-free Granola

10 oz
Hungry Bird Eats

$10.00

The Cardamom + Cinnamon granola from Hungry Bird Eats is nut-free and seasoned with a special spice blend that people from Denmark might recognize from Pebernødder (Danish spiced cookies). The granola comes with a tiny kick from white pepper and ginger, and gets its sweetness from maple syrup instead of refined sugar.  The delicious, crunchy granola is handmade with love in small batches in Hungry Bird Eats’ bespoke kitchen in East Orange, NJ.

I love the granola with yogurt or ice cream, but you can also eat it with milk, fresh fruit or in any way you prefer. Sometimes I mix the granola with the Drinking Chocolate powder from Lumineux, delicious as a dessert or as a breakfast for a special occasion.

About Hungry Bird Eats

Hungry Bird Eats is on a mission to produce high-quality, delicious and healthy snacks for kids and adults. The company was founded in Brooklyn in 2016 by my friend Tina Diep, a Danish architect and food blogger, and the products are inspired by Scandinavian recipes and a commitment to using only real, good-for-you, ingredients.

Tina began her quest for creating better snacks after learning that her son Ike was allergic to nuts and soy. Finding that most snack foods on the market were heavily processed and contained these allergens, she decided to make her own. Tina is originally from Denmark and the traditional Danish Knækbrød (crisp bread, a kind of multi seed cracker) was a source of inspiration, from which she created an on-the-go snack variation. She soon began sharing her homemade creations with neighbors and friends, who all liked the healthy and tasty snacks and after a short while, she was ready to launch her first Nordic Crisp product, Rye + Sea Salt, which is an addictive, slow-carb, baked seed cracker made of organic rye flour, lightly touched with olive oil, and filled with superfood ingredients such as organic chia seeds, flax seeds, and pumpkin seeds.

Soon after, Hungry Bird Eats was launched commercially on the retail and wholesale market, followed by the addition of a second, hand-made, Nordic Crisp product; Multi-Seeds + Oregano, made entirely with gluten-free ingredients, and the rest is history.

Today, the snacks from Hungry Bird Eats are sold in hundreds of physical and online stores. Tina’s original Rye + Sea Salt crisps have won a Good Food award, and so has the recently launched Fennel + Onion variant.  Tina now operates out of a bakery in East Orange NJ, and she has expanded her product range to also include a selection of nut-free granola, building her healthy snacking empire, one cracker at a time.
