NYC: A Brooklyn detour and then Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

I’m usually quite good at taking the subway in Manhattan, but for some reason it often goes haywire, when I am going to Brooklyn. The other day, I was meeting with Leah and Stephanie at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, which is close to Union station, so I could have taken the N or the R train directly from Manhattan. Instead I managed to get on the J train and ended up on Hewes Street instead. From Hewes Street you can get some really great photos with Williamsburg Bridge in the background, but that wasn’t the goal of my trip, so after a couple of quick iPhone shots, I hurried down to get an Uber.

A lot of my other friends have turned vegetarian or vegan, so I’ve really learned to appreciate the few carnivore friends I have left, and when I meet with Stephanie and Leah it’s almost always for barbecue. I arrived late and everybody was hungry, so we quickly ordered a big tray with different kinds of meat. I like the smoked beef brisket the best, but the spareribs at Dinosaur are also good. I’m usually not a big fan of cornbread, because I often find it too dry and crumbly, but at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, the cornbread is really moist and tastes like cake, which is a good thing if you ask me.
