abcV is one of my favorite plant-based restaurants in New York City. It’s part of the ABC Restaurants group, led by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and the vegetarian and vegan dishes are delicious.
The signature dish is the whole roasted cauliflower which is served smothered in a delicious mix of turmeric tahini, za’atar, pomegranate, date molasses, red zhug (Yemenite hot sauce), fresh herbs, and pistachio.
Are you among those who think that cauliflower smells like farts? Or even tastes like farts? I might previously have been one of those, but it’s time to unlearn all of that, because the cauliflower at abcV is nothing short of amazing.
The cauliflower has been on the menu since the very beginning, and I’ve had it both at the original abcV restaurant on 19th street, and at the new abcV restaurant at Tin Building, which is the one featured in this reel. The cauliflower has been consistently awesome at both places, and if you ask me, you simply can’t visit abcV without ordering it. Get the cauliflower, it’s a must!
Some people might think cauliflower smells like fart, and even tastes like a fart (I might previously have belonged to that group of people). Well, it’s time to unlearn all of that because
With its perfectly roasted texture and bold mix of turmeric tahini, za’atar, pomegranate, and pistachios, this dish will make you see (and taste) cauliflower in a whole new way. Trust me, this is a game-changer!
The mushroom walnut bolognese was also good, but we were there on a hot day, so it felt a little too hearty and heavy. Probably a better choice for the upcoming fall and winter months.
