Located in a corner of Madison Square Park, the original branch of the popular burger stand Shake Shack is a must-try for all burger lovers. When it all started, back in the early 00’s, Shake Shack was just a simple hotdog cart but today, the brand is internationally known with several branches abroad.
The burgers at Shake Shack aren’t very big, but what they lack in size, they make up for in yumminess and I love the juicy and flavorful patties garnished with the special Shake Shack sauce. Vegetarians usually rave about the ‘Shroom burgers with crispy fried cheddar and Portobello mushrooms and my favorite Shake Shack burger is no doubt the Shack Stack, which is a mix of the ‘Shroom Burger and the Cheeseburger.
You’ll also want to try a Concrete, which is a kind of super-charged milkshake. It is made from ice cream mixed with tasty stuff such as cookie dough and marshmallow sauce. There are several combos to choose among, but if you prefer, you can also create your own. They are really delicious, but also very filling and almost a meal in itself. There’s only outdoor seating available, so make sure to plan your visit on a sunny day. However, when the weather is nice the lines tend to get very long, so come early or be prepared to wait.
• On the Shake Shack website, you can see live webcam pictures from the area in front of Shake Shack (and check out how many people are queuing at the moment).
