The only day the sun wasn’t shining, was the day, I was visiting Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. On Saturdays, Smorgasburg is at the Williamsburg Waterfront, and on Sundays, it’s in Prospect Park (they just moved there).
The location at Williamsburg Waterfront is the nicest as you’re right by the sea with a great view of Manhattan. Smorgasburg is open from April to October and the market is a definite must-see, if you’re in New York during the summer months.
I had a big bowl of udon at Samurai Mama on my way to Smorgasburg. Really stupid, I know, because when I arrived to the market, I was so full I couldn’t squeeze down even the tiniest ramen burger.
You’ll find all the latest food trends are on display, including the aforementioned ramen burger, and the independent vendors usually put their heart and soul in whatever specialty dish they’re serving. There was so much I wanted to taste, but udon is solid stuff, and after having circulated the marketplace 3 times without the slightest trace of appetite, I gave up and went down to the shoreline to take some pictures instead.
