JFK: Breakfast at Delta Sky Club Terminal 4

JFK: Breakfast at Delta Sky Club Terminal 4

I usually fly out of JFK late at night, squeezing every last minute out of my time in the city. But a morning flight to Phoenix last year meant that I finally got to try the breakfast at Delta Sky Club. While it’s no King Amlet at Billund Airport (my gold standard for airport breakfasts, random, I know), breakfast at Delta Sky Club is definitely worth getting to the airport early for. Though keep in mind that I’ve only tried the breakfast once, so they might have a different setup when you’re visiting.

When I was there, the breakfast was served buffet-style and had all the usual American breakfast suspects plus some fun extras like chia pudding, smoothies, and a bagel station.

The bagel station was my favorite. You toast your own bagel, and the cream cheese options are homemade, at least that’s what it says on the signs. I had an Everything bagel and went with smoked salmon cream cheese on one half and scallion cream cheese on the other half.

I also had French toast, which was ok, especially after adding whipped cream and jam. As for the chia pudding, it looked promising but tasted like…well, nothing. Still, I appreciated the effort and the healthy touch.

The berry smoothie was fruity and fresh, and the orange juice was another nice surprise, -it definitely felt closer to “freshly squeezed” than “mystery concentrate.” And then there’s the Starbucks coffee. Say what you will about chain coffee, but it’s reliable, and a lot better than the coffee I’ve had at most other lounges. Furthermore, there are to-go cups available, so you can bring a cup to sip on while waiting to board your flight.

Overall, breakfast at the Delta Sky Club was a great start to the day. This is one of the better lounge breakfasts out there and if you have a morning flight from Terminal 4, you should definitely consider arriving a bit early to enjoy the lounge.
