Air Fryer Recipe: 10-minute Apple Crisp with Granola

Air Fryer Recipe: 10-minute Granola Apple Crisp

Got an air fryer? Got 10 minutes? Got an apple? Then you have to try this recipe that Tina and I came up with next time you’re craving something sweet. This single serving recipe transforms an ordinary apple into a warm, cinnamon-infused dessert that feels both comforting and gourmet. You can pair it with Greek yogurt, sour cream or vanilla ice cream depending on your mood, and sprinkle with your favorite kind of granola. I love Tina’s Hungry Bird Eats nut-free granolas, but any granola (especially the ones with cinnamon or gingerbread flavor) will do.

Don’t have an air fryer? No worries! You can easily prepare this dessert in your oven. Preheat the oven to 375ºF (190 degrees Celsius) and bake the apples in an oven-safe dish for about 15-20 minutes or until they are tender and slightly caramelized.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • A pinch of salt

  • 3 tablespoons granola

  • Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream

Directions

  • Start by preheating your air fryer to 375ºF (190ºC). This should take a few minutes, so while it’s heating up, you can prepare the apple mixture.
  • Peel the apple and cut it into bite-sized squares.
  • Melt the butter in a small pot over low heat. Stir in syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt.
  • Toss the diced apple in the butter mixture. Make sure the apples are evenly coated.
  • Place the coated apple pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Try to avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking.
  • Cook the apples in the preheated air fryer at 375ºF for 10 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time (around 5 minutes), gently shake or flip the apples to promote even cooking.
  • When the apples are done cooking, remove them from the air fryer and transfer them to a small plate or a bowl. Sprinkle the granola over the cooked apples and serve warm with a dollop of Greek yogurt, sour cream or vanilla ice cream.

Ninja Air Fryer
$105.99

I’ve had really good experiences with the Ninja air fryers. They're easy to use, the quality feels solid, and the results are consistently great. I’ve had really good experiences with the Ninja air fryers. They’re easy to use, the quality feels solid, and the results are consistently great. I like that you don’t have to fuss around with settings to get good food out of it. Vegetables turn out crisp without drying out, and chicken comes out juicy with a nice golden crust. It’s one of those kitchen gadgets that actually lives up to the hype and ends up being used all the time.

Caraway Nonstick Ceramic Frying Pan (2.7 qt, 10.5")
$115.00

Caraway recently launched on Amazon, and their cookware is as pretty as it is practical. The Caraway 10.5" Nonstick Ceramic Frying Pan is one of those pieces you’ll find yourself reaching for all the time, whether it’s for eggs, sautéed veggies, or pancakes on the weekend. I especially love it in Perracotta, which adds such a nice pop of color in the kitchen.

The naturally non-stick surface means you can cook with less oil or butter, and cleanup is quick with just a wipe or light wash. Like all of Caraway’s cookware, the pan is free from PTFE, PFOA, PFAS, lead, and cadmium, so you don’t have to worry about toxins sneaking into your food.

It works on all stovetops, gas, electric, and induction, and it’s oven-safe up to 550ºF, which makes it super versatile. Durable, easy to use, and so good-looking, this is a pan that really makes everyday cooking feel a little more special.
