No. 2 – Salty Licorice

The No. 2 Salty licorice is one of the first licorices made by the Danish gourmet licorice brand Lakrids by Bülow. It’s also my personal favorite among the Lakrids products, so even though salty licorice traditionally hasn’t been very popular in the US, I’ve decided to sell the No. 2 Salty Liquorice in my shop. If you want to try something truly Danish, this is a great place to start, but please note that the salty flavor from ammonium chloride isn’t for everyone. Though if you’ve first developed a taste for it, you’re in for a life-long addiction. Great for the experimental candy fan or as a gift for your homesick friend from Scandinavia.

Ingredients: Rice flour, sugar, invert sugar syrup, treacle, 6% raw licorice, 5% ammonium chloride, rapeseed oil, salt, glazing agent: carnauba wax, anise oil. Gluten free. Vegan.

Contains licorice – people suffering from hypertension should avoid excessive consumption.
