I stayed at Hilton Garden Inn for three nights during my first visit to Atlanta. When I arrived, there was nobody at the front desk and when a lady finally showed up, I was told that it was too early to check in. I asked if I could store my luggage until my room was ready and she looked at me as if I had asked her to climb Mount Everest, but finally took my luggage and told me to come back later.
InterContinental was fully booked on my last night in Buckhead, so I booked a night at the Whitley instead. The Whitley used to be the Ritz-Carlton, and most of the staff are old Ritz-Carlton staff, so expect amazing service and friendliness.
Last year I was in Atlanta to sit for some exams. I was looking for a quiet place to stay, and a friend of mine suggested that I stayed in Buckhead, which is an affluent area in northern Atlanta.
