In New York City, you’re not allowed to drink alcohol in public (except for at restaurants and bars), so when you’re craving a cold beer in Bryant Park, you’ll most likely end up at Bryant Park Café. The café is a part of Bryant Park Grill, but it is more casual and only open during the summer months. However, if you come here in the early evening, you’ll most likely see a lot of suits anyway. Though it’s not because of the dress code, but because Bryant Park Café is a popular spot to grab an after-work drink.
Earlier that evening, Trine and I met with Sue for dinner at Miss Korea, but before our bedtime, we squeezed in a meeting with my old friend Ehsan in Bryant Park. The Café was packed when we arrived around 8:30pm, so even though we weren’t hungry, we decided to order some snacks anyway, so the waiter wouldn’t regret that she gave us one of the last vacant tables. We also shared a bottle of wine. I don’t remember exactly what we paid for it, but it wasn’t that expensive (in that case, I would have remembered).
It’s always fun to see Ehsan because he always has a lot of new projects going on. Right now, he’s very passionate about his new hobby, SUP (Stand Up Paddle boarding) and he’s taking a course with a group out on Hudson River. I later went and join him, which you can read about here:
