Before flying back to Dubai, Trine and I had dinner at Madklubben Vesterbro in Copenhagen. I don’t know why I haven’t written about it before, but I guess the pictures I took was outshone by all the Shaggy concert pics on my SD card, so I completely forgot we had been there.
Madklubben is in the same price bracket as the Cofoco restaurants, and for 200DKK you get a 3-course menu with the possibilities to substitute each individual course with more expensive alternatives.
I decided on a chipotle hotdog, a lamb rump and a buttermilk sorbet and Trine chose a tuna carpaccio (which was an additional 75kr.), a burger and a cheese platter. Considering the price (200kr. is very cheap for a 3-course meal in Copenhagen), the food was very good. The only thing that disappointed was the burger that my sister had. The bun was burned and soaked, and it should never have left the kitchen.
I loved the lay-out of the restaurant. The dining area was huge, but divided into smaller and very cozy sections. The waiters were really busy that evening, but they took the time to make sure that everything was ok, and the buttermilk sorbet was innovative and refreshing and perfect as a summer dessert. I’ll try to recreate it in my own kitchen one of the days.
