It had been a long day, and we were fully prepared to just go home and make a quick bowl of noodle soup. But then Steve suggested we go to Teca instead, one of his favorite restaurants in the area, and it turned out to be a very good call.
Teca is a popular Italian restaurant and it’s often used for larger parties and events. The space is big, but divided into smaller sections, which helps keep the atmosphere intimate and cozy, exactly what you want when it’s date night. We arrived fairly late in the evening, so there weren’t many other guests, but we were seated in one of the crescent shaped booths where you sit side by side, which was super nice.
We started with bread and a sun dried tomato dip that was absolutely delicious and set the tone for the rest of the meal. For mains, we shared a Diavolo pizza and a cavatelli pasta with pancetta. The pizza was topped with spicy coppa and pepperoni and had just the right amount of heat. Apparently, the cavatelli is something of a classic at Teca, and rightfully so. It’s served piping hot in a metal bowl with plenty of sauce, and it’s a really lovely dish. We also ordered Brussels sprouts with pancetta and a white balsamic dressing on the side. I love Brussels sprouts when they’re done right, and these definitely were. Gone in no time. We were both too full for dessert so that has to be another day. Will definitely be back.
