I was out walking in Gangnam when I came across a food truck selling cotton candy. Not the neat little kind I’m used to back home in Denmark, but giant, over the top clouds of cotton candy, bigger than my head. The truck itself was impossibly cute and pink, so of course I had to stop to take a photo.
Cotton candy is pure nostalgia. Even the smell is enough to trigger memories of childhood summers, fairgrounds, and local sports festivals back in Denmark. I bought myself a big, fluffy one that immediately ended up in my hair and on my clothes, and it tasted just as good as it looked.
I haven’t seen the truck since, so I have no idea if it’s still roaming the streets of Seoul. But if you do spot it, promise me you’ll try their cotton candy. It’s almost impossible not to be in a good mood while eating it.
