Vejle: Farewell dinner at Bar’sushi

Bar'sushi in Vejle

Yesterday, Trine and I had dinner with my friend and golf buddy Peter. He has been in Jylland for the last couple of months, to finish writing his book about Dubai, but he is moving to Copenhagen in September, so we wanted to see him one last time before he is leaving.

When the three of us meet, we usually go for sushi at Nara in Vejle, but this time, we decided to go to Bar’sushi instead. Bar’sushi has three different of all-you-can eat offers, and we chose the one, that allows you to order what you feel like (the others are chef’s choice menus).

Bar’sushi is slightly more expensive than Nara, but the nigiri in particular was better than at Nara in my humble opinion. Another thing I really liked was that they had kingfish and scallops on the menu in addition to the usual tuna and salmon rolls.

I must say I am impressed with the all-you-can-eat sushi places in Denmark. In Dubai, the only place that comes to my mind is YO! Sushi, and they are lightyears behind both Nara and Bar’sushi in terms of quality and offering. So Bar’sushi, if you are reading this, why don’t you go and open a branch in Dubai?:)

Mitzie Mee - Sanne

Welcome to my blog about Denmark. I grew up in Denmark in a small town in Jylland, where the buses stop running at 6pm and people say hi to strangers. I later swapped quiet streets for city life and spent a couple of years in Copenhagen because at some point, every Dane needs their dose of bike lanes and overpriced coffee. This blog is my take on Denmark. From cozy cafĆ©s and local dishes to hidden spots and seaside towns, it’s a mix of nostalgia and new discoveries. Whether you’re planning a trip or just curious about how we do things up here in the north, here’s Denmark according to me.
