Although Corralejo is not the capital of Fuerteventura, it is probably the city, where you find the most tourists, with all that entails. This is the place to stay, if you want to be right in the heart of all the action in Fuerteventura, but if hordes of tourists and partying until the wee hours aren’t your thing, Corralejo probably isn’t for you.
Though one thing I really like about Corralejo is the good selection of restaurants, and this was also the main reason why we drove all the way up from La Pared. I had found a tapas restaurant Pulperia Dejavu Cafe, which I really wanted to try. As the name suggests, Pulperia is specializing in octopus, and there was a bunch of different octopus dishes to choose among. Everything sounded really good, so it was difficult just to pick a few dishes, but on the staff’s recommendation, we chose the octopus with teriyaki. It tasted really good, but I couldn’t help regret just a little bit, that we didn’t try the one with pico de gallo and mango, which I think would have been really good too.
