Fuerteventura: Morro Jable – A beautiful beach town

Fuerteventura: Morro Jable - A place in the sun

Morro Jable is a quaint little beach town in the southernmost part of Fuerteventura. It is a popular place to stay for tourists, but it feels touristy in a completely different way than Corralejo does, and the town has managed to keep a very authentic, laid-back vibe that I really like.

After lunch, we went to the beach and ended up spending the rest of the afternoon, relaxing in the sand. The beach at Morro Jable has soft white sand, and the water is turquoise blue and crystal clear.

Closer to the village, there’s a lively vibe with small cafes and restaurants lining the promenade. But walk a little further along the beach, and you’ll find quieter spots that feel almost untouched. The water here is some of the clearest I’ve seen, and when the sun hits it just right, it’s that perfect shade of blue that you usually only see in postcards

One part of the beach has big lava rocks and caves that you can enter, during low tide. I went for a walk to take some photos and after circumnavigating quite a few half-naked tourists, who thought they had found a quiet spot to sunbathe I got a really nice view of the beach and the church on top of the rock. As you probably understand by now, I really liked Morro Jable. The beach was amazing, and I really liked the atmosphere, so if I were to visit Fuerteventura again, I think I would be looking for a hotel down there.

In Morro Jable, we had lunch at  La Bodega de JandĆa. Read my blog post about La Bodega de JandĆa
