I arrived in Bangkok early in the morning yesterday, so before I went to the hotel, I decided to visit MBK to get a couple of things I had forgot to bring with me from Dubai. Though at MBK I always end up buying a lot of other stuff, which I haven’t forgotten, but which I can easily convince myself that I need. Such a the mini-tripod, which I’m now the happy owner of.
MBK has recently renovated the outside of the mall, and the well-known blue and green colors have been replaced by a stylish white facade. The mall is primarily known for electronics and fake designer bags, but there are also lots of nice shops selling all sorts of things. Before I found Desco in Dubai, I always had my business cards made in one of the print shops in MBK.
On the 2nd floor, there’s a very nice shop, Arb-Ims, that sells spa products made in Thailand. You can also get your legs waxed or book an appointment for a facial with the products sold in the store.
Opposite Arb-Ims, there’s a branch of the Japanese drugstore chain Matsumoto Kiyoshi. This is where to get all those funny Japanese products, which will most certainly never make it to the stores in Dubai or in Copenhagen. I almost bought a roller toothbrush, and I was tempted to get one of those exfoliating foot packs, which will make any dead skin fall off your feet. They were almost half the price of the original BabyFoot but didn’t come with instructions in English, so I decided to skip it.
