After a short stop at the hotel to change our clothes, we went straight down to Fort Lauderdale Beach. This part of Fort Lauderdale Beach is very similar to JBR Beach in Dubai. There are lots of restaurants (and tourists) and if you have a thing for luxury cars, you will also find plenty of eye candy cruising the promenade, even though the Ferrari-per-capita ratio might be slightly smaller than in Dubai.
We had lunch at Casablanca. It was a cute little spot with the kind of food you would expect to find at a beach side restaurant. I had fish & chips and Poul had fish tacos. It was a busy day and we waited for quite a while to get our food. My fish & chips was nice, though I could have wished for more of that scrumptious tartare sauce. Poul was also happy with his fish tacos, but we soon realized that everybody else were having seafood linguine. I can’t tell you what it tasted like, but the smell from the neighboring tables was intriguing.
