Los Angeles: Brunch at The Ivy
When it comes to Sunday brunch in LA, nothing beats The Ivy on Robertson Blvd. We were lucky and got one of the most-wanted tables on the outside patio, so we could enjoy our food while doing some serious people watching in the sun.
The Ivy is known for its rich and famous clientele and the restaurant’s valet parking was an impressive cavalcade of luxury cars with tinted windows. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to see that the staff didn’t discriminate between celebrities and travel blogger-nobodies, and I was truly impressed by the service, which was friendly and charming but never obtrusive.
We had a glass of complimentary champagne to kick off our brunch, and while we glanced through the menu, we were served freshly baked scones with marmalade (what a nice detail!). AC ordered chicken enchiladas and I couldn’t resist the crab salad with homemade Thousand Island dressing. After finishing our food, we were far from ready to leave our spot in the sun, so we decided to share a sorbet dessert , just so we could stay a little longer in the beautiful restaurant behind the white picket fence.
Some might say that The Ivy is comparable to the Hollywood sign when it comes to Los Angeles landmarks, and though this might be a slight exaggeration, there is no doubt that The Ivy is one of the places, you do not want to miss when visiting Los Angeles.
