They harvested the leaves and stems, which were then roasted and brewed to make a stimulating beverage known as “the black drink”. The black drink was often consumed in vast quantities during purification ceremonies before significant events, such as meetings, trade negotiations, or battles.

In recent years, Yaupon Holly tea has been rediscovered as a versatile, enjoyable brew, and it is a great alternative to your typical black or green teas. Wonder why?
