Hong Kong: The Goldfish Market

Hong Kong Goldfish Market

AC has two aquariums full of fish and in Oslo, aquarium stuff is expensive, so she wanted to do some shopping at the Goldfish Market in Hong Kong. One of the things on her list was a spawning cone, which is a terracotta device used to make the fish spawn stick. I had no idea what she was talking about and neither did the different vendors, she asked.

As a last attempt she decided to find an image on Google, which she could show the shop keepers, but it didn’t turn out very well. The people she showed the photo looked either embarrassed or slightly offended and made it very clear that ā€œNO, we don’t sell stuff like that!ā€. I think I know why, but I can’t write it here, because then my blog might get banned in certain countries. Google ā€œspawning coneā€ and you’ll probably understand. That thing really looks like something else!

Hong Kong Hotels
Hotels in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is one of those cities that hits you right away—with its neon lights, narrow alleys, glossy malls, and street food that somehow tastes even better at 2am. And while hotel rooms here tend to be on the smaller side (space is a luxury!), they more than make up for it in location, views, and clever design.

Whether you're staying in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, or somewhere a bit more local like Sheung Wan or Sai Ying Pun, there’s no shortage of great places to stay. Some come with rooftop pools, some with harbor views, and some just put you right in the middle of the action—which, in Hong Kong, is exactly where you want to be.

Here’s a link to check out hotels in Hong Kong—hope you find a spot that makes you fall in love with the city like I did.
