Sorell Hotel Seidenhof – A weekend in Zurich

Breakfast at Sorell Hotel Seidenhof, Zurich

This weekend I went to Zurich once again, this time with AC and Myrvete. I’ve been to Zurich quite a few times lately, but it’s such a wonderful city, and even though the weather could have been better, it was still great to be back.

We were on 3 different flights, and Myrvete’s and AC’s flights were both delayed, so I went ahead and checked in at the hotel. This time we were staying at Sorell Seidenhof which is just across the street from Glockenhof, where I’ve stayed before. I was looking at Glockenhof this time too, but with 3 persons in the room, Seidenhof was much cheaper, so we went for that instead. The room was spacious, and even with the roll-away bed, it didn’t feel crammed.

3 bottles of complimentary water were waiting for us in the room, and there was also a Nespresso machine, so we could make coffee for our Baileys (important!).

The room was completely quiet with blackout curtains, which might explain why we overslept and missed the breakfast Saturday morning. Sunday morning, we all set our alarms to make sure we got up in time. Breakfast was included in the room rate, and it was a nice buffet. Maybe not as fancy as at Glockenhof, but still good, considering that it was complimentary.

It was a nice stay, and the only thing I was missing was the small piece of chocolate on the pillow. I’ve had that at all the other hotels I’ve stayed at in Zürich, and considering that we’re in Switzerland, pillow chocolate should be mandatory, shouldn’t it? 🙂
