’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want: A taco de adobada (spicy pork taco) from Tacos El Gordos!
Ever since I boarded the plane to Las Vegas, I’ve had one of those on my mind, so the first thing I did this morning was to head up north on The Strip. Tacos El Gordo is located at the small shopping plaza right after Encore and Wynn, so it’s quite a walk but definitely worth it.
The tacos are $2 each unless you order one with beef tongue (then it’s $2.25) and they are so tasty! I don’t know what they put into that green sauce, but whatever the secret, kick-*ss ingredient is, it boosts the flavor of all the other stuff wrapped in the soft taco, and makes it completely irresistible..
After my taco-breakfast I took a walk down the Strip. I went inside Bellagio to visit the Conservatory. The Conservatory is one of my favorite free pleasures in Las Vegas. The display changes with the seasons and right now, there’s a fall/Halloween theme going on with trolls, pumpkins and a horse made of flowers. The Conservatory is a popular spot, but even when it gets crowded, it still has this peaceful vibe to it, like a calm haven in the middle of The Strip’s neon-maelstrom.
In a short while, I’ll be meeting a Swedish friend of mine, who are in Las Vegas for the weekend. He is here with two other friends, and we’ve decided to go for dinner tonight at Jean Georges Steakhouse at Aria. Cecce arrives at 18:30, so she will join us later, and we’ll all go out at Marquee later. Wish you all a pleasant weekend from sunny Las Vegas.
