Fort Lauderdale: Quality Inn & Suites Airport Hotel

Quality Inn & Suites, Fort Lauderdale, airport hotel

Yay! I’m in Florida! I just touched down an hour ago and now I’m at the airport hotel, Quality Inn & Suites, which I’ve booked for the night. When it comes to airport hotels, I’m not that picky, as I usually just stay one night on my way somewhere else. The only things I look for are free wi-fi and a free airport shuttle. Usually the cheapest hotels don’t offer transportation to and from the airport, so you end up spending the few bucks you’ve saved on the room on cab rides instead, so I always go for the hotels with free airport shuttles even if they’re a little more expensive.

Quality Inn & Suites is nice and clean, but I got really scared, as I was walking through the outdoor hallway to my room. I saw this shadow, which was too big to be a bird, but too small to be a dog. In my mind that left one option: Rat! I was already prepared to turn around and find another way to get to my room, but then it jumped! And it jumped again. Boing, boing, boing! Turned out, it was a giant frog and not a rat. Phewww, I’m not afraid of frogs, even though this one was much bigger than any frog, I’ve seen before..

There’s not much in this area except for a mall, a McDonald’s and a Taco Bell, so I picked up a burrito, and now I’m ready to go to bed. I had 3 seats all to myself on the plane, so I slept through most of the flight, but hopefully, I’ll be able to sleep through the night, so I can do a little sightseeing in the neighborhood before I catch my flight to Las Vegas tomorrow evening.
