Los Angeles: Little Tokyo – A taste of Japan in LA

Little Tokyo, Los Angeles

Tokyo is one of my favorite cities in the world, but it’s been a while since my last visit. Man, I need to go back!  Though until I’m able to board the next flight to the land of sushi and sake, I’ll have to make do with what I find along the way. Such as Little Tokyo in Los Angeles.

Little Tokyo is centered around Japanese Village Plaza, which is an outdoor shopping mall. The area only spans a few blocks, but it’s still a great place to visit, both for sightseeing and for tasty Japanese food. At the restaurants you can get sushi in all price ranges as well as ramen and yakitori. There are also shops selling fun Japanese stuff, and today we were lucky to spot an LA cosplay girl and Hello Kitty.

Los Angeles has so many ethnic neighborhoods, and in addition to Little Tokyo, Chinatown and Koreatown are also worth a visit, when you’re craving Asian food and culture.
