Bangkok: Untitled – A Pawn Shop Speakeasy in Thonglor

When I walked out from my haul at Donki Mall, I noticed this neon lit pawn shop across the street. Now if you’ve been to Beauty & Essex in New York you know, that pawn shops aren’t always what they look like. Some of them are speakeasies, and after taking a closer look at this Untitled pawn shop, I suspected that this might also be the case here.

So I went over and walked in, and guess what? Turned out I was right:)

When I was there in early January, they had just had their soft launch, and you still got a complimentary welcome/opening drink with your order. I was there early on a weeknight, so it wasn’t that busy, which was great for me, as it meant that the staff had more time to talk. They told me that the people behind Untitled are the same people that started Teens of Thailand, which is a super hip dive bar in Chinatown. They also run a number of other bars, but this is the first bar that they’ve opened outside Chinatown.

I had a cocktail called AFS with Scotch, apple, aged fish sauce and bubbles, and it was delicious. The fish sauce and the Scotch are a great match in case you wonder. Here’s a short video:
