Hong Kong: Mong Kok and Ladies Market
After the Goldfish Market (read about AC’s spawning cone chase here), we walked over to Ladies Market, which is also in Mong Kok. You can’t buy ladies at Ladies Market (in case you wonder), but the street market is lined with stalls selling all sorts of knick-knack and clothes.
Most of the stuff wasn’t our style, or size 0 or counterfeit goods, so we didn’t buy anything, except for a selfie-stick.
We found a better selection of stores down some of the surrounding streets, including a branch of the Hong Kong label G2000, which is one of ACs favorite brands for office wear. Though even without the shopping, Mong Kok was a really nice area. There are all the neon signboards one could possibly wish for, and cheap and tasty bites are available everywhere from a plethora of food vendors and restaurants. It felt a little bit like Shibuya and Shinjuku in Tokyo and I liked it a lot. Sheung Wan/Lan Kwai Fong is still my favorite Hong Kong neighborhood, but Mong Kok takes a strong second place.
