Westfield Century City – Los Angeles Shopping

Westfield Century City - Los Angeles

Westfield is an outdoor shopping mall close to Beverly Hills. It’s a great place for one-stop shopping and there’s also a decent selection of restaurants on the premises. All the high street stores are here and the department stores Bloomingdales and Macy’s also have branches at Westfield. An ongoing expansion will even add a Nordstrom to Westfield during 2017.

Westfield is an international chain of shopping malls, so some of you might be familiar with the concept. Compared to the other Westfield malls that I’ve visited, the Century City location is definitely among the nicer ones. The outdoor layout makes Westfield feel less like a mall and it’s a really nice place to spend an afternoon.

Deals and offers are published on Westfield Century City’s website, and if you hold a foreign passport or an out-of-town driver’s license, you’re entitled to the Traveler Privileges Card with special offers and rewards. To redeem your card, you need to fill out a voucher found on the website and bring it to the Guest Services at the Center Court between Bloomingdale’s and the Dining Terrace escalators.

There are plenty of parking spaces in the underground parking lot. The first 30 minutes are free, and then it’s $1/hour. From 3h, you pay $2/0.5h. AMC (a movie theater), Gelson’s (a supermarket) and some of the restaurants offer free validation for the first 3 hours, and if you spend more than $100 you can bring your receipt to Guest Services and receive complimentary all-day validation.

• There are some major renovations going on right now, adding even more stores and restaurants, so some areas of the mall look more like a construction site for the time being.

Mitzie Mee - Sanne

Los Angeles is a city you don’t quite figure out all at once. It unfolds slowly, neighborhood by neighborhood, mile by mile. Vast and sun washed, cinematic and oddly intimate, it’s a place of constant contrast. Morning hikes in the canyons. Long lunches that stretch into late afternoon. Evenings that end by the ocean with salt in your hair and traffic humming somewhere in the distance. What I love most about LA is that it feels less like a single city and more like a collection of distinct worlds stitched together by freeways and palm trees. A strip mall might hide one of the best meals you’ll have all year. A quiet residential street can lead to a view that stops you in your tracks. The glamour is there if you look for it, but so is a relaxed, everyday rhythm that makes the city surprisingly livable. On this page, I’ve gathered my Los Angeles favorites. The restaurants I return to. The neighborhoods I linger in. The places that capture the particular mix of ambition, creativity, and laid back energy that defines the city.
